Oatelli’s Marloes Martens says, “Our aim is to develop nutritious and tasty food products utilising the full potential of pure ingredients. Wherever possible Oatelli will use more sustainable residual and secondary flows. Our first product is oatpasta, a nutritious and tasty pasta product. Nutritious because it is made of oatbran, which is rich in vitamins, minerals and fibre. Oatbran fibre contains a high level of beta-glucanes which are known for their cholesterol reducing properties, their low glycemic index and their saturating effect. Oatelli oatpasta contains sufficient beta-glucanes (3 g per portion of 80 g) to qualify for an EFSA claim for cholesterol reduction (1 g per portion of 100g). Tasty because the use of oatbran gives the product an unique flavour and structure which are highly appreciated”.
